Hello & Welcome to the Easy Auction Business video
newsletter!
As you've probably noticed, we tend to cover a lot of very complicated strategical and technical stuff in our newsletters. You know the kind
of stuff, how to build and manage your online business, how to create a successful brand, and so forth. And all of these things are VERY
important!
However, from now on, I'd also like to cover some of the more basic topics as well, the kind of information that can help you solve very
specific problems right away. So, for all you Do-It-Yourself fans, you have reason to be excited!
Today, I'd like to introduce a special shopping cart solution that many of you will probably not be aware of. Sure, we've
covered shopping carts before in previous newsletters, but they tend to be pretty expensive and often far too complicated for people just
starting out as entrepreneurs. These solutions can be pretty bulky too, so if you run a small operation, they may actually offer a lot more than
you really need. But today, I'm going to show you how to build a great looking online shop with a fully functional shopping cart for less than
100 quid! All that you need is one wonderful tool: the Shopperpress theme for Wordpress!
Wordpress??? Isn't that just a blog platform?
Yes, it's a blog platform. BUT, it can also be much more if know how to use it properly. All that you have to do is change
your Wordpress blog over to the “Shopperpress” theme and you have a fully functional shopping cart within minutes. AND, that's really only the
beginning.
The Shopperpress Wordpress theme is:
 |
A great looking online shop for a limited budget |
 |
A fully SEO optimized program for high ranking on search
engines |
 |
An easy to install program that anyone can use and customize |
In a word, it's the perfect solution for anyone who is just starting out in the world of online entrepreneurship. Now let's take a closer look
at just how it works:
How Does it Work?
“Shopperpress is a fully featured shopping cart theme for Wordpress, suitable for selling all types of products, services, and digital
downloads online.”
That's how they describe it themselves, and honestly, this is just what it is. It's not a standalone application, but when it's combined with
Wordpress, it is quite a force to contend with.
Now let's go through the exact steps that you need to take to get your Shopperpress website up and running.
1. First, you need to get a domain name, assuming that you don't have one already. You can easily get a domain name from
GoDaddy.com (to name just one of your options) for less than ten quid per year. Just make sure
that you put some thought into your domain name choice and don't make the same mistake that Gareth did with his company. (You can read more
about that in the latest Q&A session at ChatWithAndrew.com.)
2. Once you've got your domain name, you need to get a hosting account. There are plenty of reliable companies for this, but
HostGator is the one that I use most often. This should cost between five and ten pounds per month
for a basic account. And chances are that if you're running a simple operation you won't need anything fancier than this.
3. Now, go to Wordpress.org and download the latest version of Wordpress and install it on your hosting account. This should be
pretty easy, and there are full directions posted on the Wordpress website. But if you feel like you're in a little over your head you can
always pay a freelance coder to do it. You can find great personnel on the Digital Point forum who should be able to do this for less than fifteen pounds.
4. We're almost there. Now, you just need to buy the Shopperpress theme and install it on your blog. Right now, it costs $79, and honestly that's a pretty small price
to pay for everything that this program has to offer! The installation is extremely easy, so you really shouldn't have to hire a coder for
this. But if you want to make sure, try to find someone who can do a Wordpress and Shopperpress installation for a single price.
5. Now it's time to customize, customize, CUSTOMIZE! It's time to set every little thing up just exactly the way that you
want it to be. You'll be able to customize your e-mails, layout, categories, terms & conditions and so forth! Plus you'll have the
option of choosing one of Shopperpress's many themes in order to match your website specifically to the products that you
sell.
To make things a little clearer, let's look at an example. Here's a website that we recently designed for one of our clients – Clark. His
website, SkyBlueTents.com, is a perfect example of a PRO looking online shop constructed
exclusively using Shopperpress and Wordpress.
There are just two things that you need to remember when setting up your Shopperpress based
online shop:
1. Choose an appropriate Shopperpress theme! Your purchase of Shopperpress comes with multiple themes. There are no
additional charges for themes and new ones are added each month! So make sure that you choose a theme that both looks great and is appropriate
for your business. Clark has chosen the “Ice Hockey” theme which I think looks really great here.
2. The second thing that you need to remember is to make it look good! This is your website, you want it to look like a
million bucks. And honestly, just look at Clark's website – it might as well have been designed by a multi-million-dollar design firm. It looks
that GOOD. All that you have to do to make your own Shopperpress look like a million dollars is to insert your own custom banner
into Shopperpress's six custom banner positions. Then, work in a little bit of colour scheme customization and you're there! You can get
great-looking banners from freelance designers for as little as thirty to fifty pounds, and in fact we offer this service as well if you're
interested in using my personal designer's services. Just drop me an email and we'll be on it.
As you can see, it only takes a few easy steps to create a great-looking, professional online shop that is sure to convert to
sales. You'll be able to go from an idea in your head to a fully functional shop in less than a week. Best of all, you'll only have to invest a
few hours of your time!
What’s Included?
While we don't have time to go through all of Shopperpress's features right now, I'll simply say that it can do just about anything that any
fully functional shopping cart can do. This includes:
 |
A web based admin panel |
 |
Full inventory control |
 |
Integrated payment gateways |
 |
Customizable Shipping & Tax settings |
 |
Sales analytics |
 |
And so much more! |
And then there's just one more thing that I really want to point out that I simply LOVE about
Shopperpress: its Search Engine Optimization features! Since it's based on Wordpress, it is the most SEO friendly shopping cart
on the planet! Wordpress is an extremely “light weight” model that easily attracts traffic through SEO, and the same is true when you are using
the Shopperpress theme. Basically, your shop IS a Blog, meaning that it has all of the coding advantages of a blog. This means that it updates
directories whenever a customer leaves a review or when you add a new product.
Plus, if you install the “All in One SEO” plugin for Wordpress, you will get instant customization for each product page.
This means that you can set up the following SEO values for every single product you sell.
- Custom Title
- Custom Meta description
- Custom URL
- Custom Meta keywords
This is exactly what it takes to create an online shop that Google can fall madly in love with. And best of all, most online sellers still do
not understand the importance of SEO, giving you a huge advantage over the competition.
Is it for Everyone?
The main thing that you need to think about when deciding whether or not to switch to Shopperpress is the size of your
operation. For 90% of sellers, this online shop model for less than 100 pounds will be perfect.
However, if your shop consists of hundreds upon hundreds of different products, with variations in size and colour, you may need a more robust
solution such as Cube Cart or 3D Cart. However, if you sell less than fifty different products, Shopperpress should be perfect
for you.
Also, if you already have a well established shop with more than 10 orders each day, I wouldn't recommend switching to Shopperpress. The
strain that the shift in format may cause will probably outweigh any advantage you might gain. But on the other hand, if you're just starting
out, I recommend giving Shopperpress a try.
After all, it's:
- Affordable
- Easy to set up, and
- SEO friendly
And most importantly – it looks great! What more could you ask for just $79?
I hope that you've learned something today as next time we’ll be looking at THE Most important thing that 99% of online sellers are missing out
on. What is it? The answer is coming in two weeks time when you’ll receive a Special, FREE report written by me which under covers THE
