Hello & Welcome to the Easy Auction Business video newsletter!

It’s Andrew here back with the latest edition of the Easy Auction Business video newsletter! Hope you enjoyed your holidays as much as I did and are ready to make year 2010 a real success! This is the 25th edition of our newsletter so just wanted to say a quick Thanks to you, my loyal subscriber that you’re still with me!

    Here’s what we’ll cover in today’s newsletter:

    • EAB Update
    • SAT Update
    • RM Delays
    • Online Business Growth
    • Your plan for The Year 2010

So without further ado, let’s get started!

    The EAB Update

Some of you may have heard that I had a plan this year to create an update for the Easy Auction Business video course. Well, here’s the bad news – there will be no updates for the course…

Yeah, yeah – I know – you are eagerly waiting for more great stuff for me! And you’ll get it, I promise! The thing is – I was re-watching the whole course over the weekend and to be honest – it’s so damn good that a 30 minute update won’t change anything! There’s simply nothing much to add to the whole concept! I would have to create a totally new course, from scratch to include more ideas in appropriate sections of the course!

So here’s what I have decided to do –

There won’t be a 2010 update for the Easy Auction Business video course BUT I’ll concentrate all my efforts into this newsletter. I’ll publish it strictly every 2 weeks and include all the latest news, tips & tricks, product reviews and so on, covering eBay as well as e-commerce stuff!

So to put it simply – during the year, you’ll receive hours upon hours of valuable, high quality content – absolutely FOR Free, just for staying with me, as my newsletter subscriber! How’s that sound to you? :-)

And I have listened to your voice and this year I’ll keep the newsletter short & sweet – below 10 minutes mark so that you are not getting bored with me! Later on this year, we’ll be switching to a new EAB platform, where you’ll be able to leave comments, watch YouTube’s high definition videos and take part in polls! We’ll go social so to speak!

But until then, there’s another major update along the way…

Spicy Auction Templates 2.0 Coming Soon!

For those of you actively taking part in SAT forums, this won’t be a surprise. But yes – we’re working on the Spicy Auction Templates version 2.0, which will include:

    New Templates
    New member’s area
    New video lessons
    New Articles
    New custom design deals
New commenting, voting & rating features

And you can be a part of it! Login into your SAT account, go to forums and under “Announcements” category you’ll find a thread where you can post your ideas, suggestions, template requests – anything really you would like to see in the new version of the Spicy Auction templates!

We have already started working on the templates so very soon you’ll start to see first changes in your SAT member’s area. At the moment, we’re planning to complete the whole revamp process by the end of April, this year.

So there’s still plenty of time to get in your ideas, especially – template related ones as we really want to make new templates as good as they can be!

Royal Mail – Pain In the…..?

There are processes in business we can control, unfortunately – shipping is not one of them. Well, sort of – if you’re selling valuable goods, you can always use more reliable courier services, but if you’re selling small, low value goods Royal Mail is the only option to go with.

And as we all know, the last couple of weeks have been a total nightmare for everyone – due to extremely bad weather conditions, we saw massive delays in postal services across all Europe. There was a Christmas gift for me, sent out on 17th December, which I received just few days ago. Happy me :-)

Here’s the thing – 99% of your customers will be very patient and will wait for their shipment as long as you keep them updated on what is going on. Luckily enough, this time, there was massive media coverage, because of the snow of course so most people were informed that there are postal delays.

Here’s an example e-mail I got from one customer:

    Good Afternoon,

I have not received my order.  I am assuming it is sent by Royal Mail and delivery is held up with the unusual weather conditions!

I would appreciate your confirmation that other customers are experiencing the same problem and would like to know how much longer I should leave it before we realize that there is a problem other than the weather!

As you can see – most customers are very patient and they know that we’re not delivering the goods by ourselves!

Still, in situations like these, you should make the little extra effort and INFORM your customers about any possible shipping delays! That’s it – just inform them and you’ll see that very few people will make complaints afterwards.

    Here’s how to do it:

If you’re an eBay seller – make sure to add a Shipping Delay notice across all of your listings. This can be easily done by using the 1pixel picture method covered in the SAT & EAB videos.

If you have your own website, put Shipping Delay message in the header section or on the checkout page. Yes, this will reduce sales a bit because people who are expecting Next Day Delivery most likely won’t order. BUT – you’ll avoid refunds and bad word spreading around the net about your company. Also, it’s a good idea to add a similar, Shipping Delay note in Order Confirmation and Order Dispatch e-mails.

Remember, your reputation is everything these days, so don’t ruin it because of a few extra sales you can get today! Always, always think long term!

Online Businesses – We’re Not There Yet!

This didn’t surprised me at all - Online retail sales grew 21% to nearly £50bn in 2009, as reported by InternetRetailing.net

Up to 33 million consumers made an online purchase last year. And that’s all in UK alone.

While the World is fighting with the biggest financial crisis since early 1930’s, online sales are growing each year by 2 digit numbers! And by no means will this trend stop! The overall crisis actually helps us as more and more people are looking for better deals online and while traditional brick & mortar stores are barely alive, internet retailers are beating sales records month after month!

Sure, there are markets which are badly affected by the crisis, even online – like luxury goods but overall trend is still very positive!
This only means that now is the perfect time to get heavily into selling online if you haven’t started it yet! If you’re not doing anything at the moment, start selling on eBay! If you’re already selling on eBay, start working on your online shop! Right now, today!

If you have some spare cash, invest it into your business right now! Build the best online shop you can afford, invest in your branding, and invest in marketing! This is a perfect time to take your market share! Don’t miss out on this “once in a lifetime” opportunity! You may never get a second chance!

    Plan It Out!

Motivation is there, I hope actions too – you’re ready to make it happen! But without a good planning strategy, most likely you’ll get nowhere. So if you still haven’t planned out year 2010, do it now, do it today!

You can learn more about planning strategies in the “Conclusions” video lesson in the Easy Auction Business video course, but for now – I really want you to set at least 1 goal you would like to achieve this year. Just one thing you would like to accomplish.

Write it down and keep in front of your eyes all the time. Work on it! Create a more detailed plan on how you’ll achieve that goal and simply work on it!

No one will do this for you, everything is in your hands – You can do it!

Remember, there are only 3 things to achieve anything you want in your life:

    • The Goal
    • The Plan
    • The Action

And YOU – keeping it all together!

Ohh, almost forget – Chinese New Year holidays are coming soon! If you’re dealing with Chinese suppliers, make sure to get your orders placed in time to avoid any delays!

As always – feel free to send in any comments or suggestions!

    Until Next Time,
